Now The Plumbing

<- backindexnext ->
Saturday August 22nd. Time for some plumbing work.

The waste pipe was near grade and our plan was to move the toilet, so out comes the old pipe.

That big tree had roots everywhere!
Finally, everything cut out, and the wall opening ready for the new pipe
Almost ready, a few more roots
How's that for a twisted mess of pipe.
A nice straight section of pipe will replace that mess.
That's it, we're connected again.
Back to the interior. We'll start at the highest point, the kitchen.
Carol cutting pipe.
The kitchen vent heads over to the bath area
Vanity, toilet, and tub drains set.
That's it, the waste pipes are done!
We decided to try PEX tubing for the water.

I kinda like it. We ran 2 long runs under the floor, and just tapped in where we needed water.

A few taps for the vanity and toilet.
And the tub connections too.
A quick pressure test, and nothing leaks!
Our old well doesn't seem to work? It was rumored we shared a well with a neighbor.

A few minutes of digging proved that false, and we have our very own PLUGGED WELL POINT!

I found the well, and the water is about 6 feet from the TOP of the well pipe, not good.

We finally got it going, read the story below
