Some Interior Work

<- back indexnext ->
Saturday, October 3rd. COld weather is coming! The floor under the old closet are was rotten from a roof leak. We'll cut that out and replace it.
We need to set the tub too. We sectioned the floor so we could install and test the drain from above.
Cool, the tub is set, and the drain works.
The rest of the floor can go down, and the shower wall need to be built
Sunday, the rough wiring is in, and the wall insulation went up in a flash!
We're almost ready for tht drywall!
That's messy, we had better wire that up before the drywall starts.
Thursday October 15th, we're back for more!

I had a nightmare about the roof collapsing on me. I decided to shore up the saggy ceiling with a few more 2x6s.

That's better, the ceiling line is straight now!

Up goes the 10 foot sections of 5/8" drywall, I'm glad I have a lift!

It's going good!
Almost done with this room
Bedroom
Bathroom, hey we cleaned up the wiring too!

The ceiling is done!

Saturday, before load the floor with more drywall, I want to shore up the center.
That's better, the floor had an annoying bounce.
First up, tile backer in the bathroom.
Done!
Let's add some blocking for the towel bars.
Now let's get started on the walls
Going well
Sunday, kitchen time.

That's it for now, time to go home again.

I have all of the 8 and 10 foot sections hung, I need some help with the 12 footers!

Saturday October 24th. Carol and I hang the last of the 12 footers, now it's time for some tape.

The cold car fogged up the camera

Not my favorite part, but it has to be done (and within budget too!)
Sunday morning, is it time to go home yet?
Saturday Nov 8th. We're back at it again.
It really doesn't look any different?
We did sand everything, and we're ready for a top coat.

It's up to 60 degrees this weekend, that sure is nice to have the doors open!

Our insurance agent told us we needed some stairs until the deck goes in. We whipped up quick set from the leftover barn wood.
Maybe the hallway isn't as far along as I had hoped.
The attic scuttle needs some attention too.
Friday Nov 13th. We're back at it again!

We need to finish the closet framing and get some primer on this place!

Closets framed and the primer has started
bedrooms done!
Now for some final touches on the ceiling
The skylight gets primed first
Carol cuts in the corners while I roll the flat areas
About half way done
Monday afternoon and we're done, cleaned up and ready to go home!

We brought the flooring in from the barn
